If you are teaching outside it’s great to know the basics so that you can enthuse your students, answer questions and keep them safe.

This event will build your confidence in, and enjoyment of, taking your students outdoors, and perhaps enthuse you to be involved in teaching the new GCSE in Natural History in due course. We will teach you about some common species, including memorable fun facts that you can use to wow your students. And more importantly, we’ll teach you easy ways to find out more, so that you can show your students how to learn for themselves. We will also teach you how to recognise and manage the risks of being outdoors with students. All in the wonderful setting of Wytham Woods just outside Oxford. Bring your kids if you like (and a spare adult if you want). Tea and biscuits included!

Suitable for everyone in all phases!

Mainly useful for those leading fieldwork trips, but open to anyone who wants to improve their nature knowledge in the lead up to the new GCSE in Natural History.
