Face to face recruitment event for Secondary and Special Schools.

Monday 13th January 2025

4.30pm – 6.30pm, set up from 4.15pm

This event is organised by the University of Oxford Department of Education and OTSA.

This recruitment and networking event is open to state-funded secondary and special schools who are partners with Oxfordshire Teacher Training, OTSA, Oxfordshire Teaching School Hub or the University of Oxford Department of Education.

The event will be an opportunity for schools and trainee teachers to meet to discuss current and future possible employment opportunities. We will be inviting trainees currently training through Oxfordshire Teacher Training and the University of Oxford Department of Education.

You do not need to know your recruitment needs at the time of the event – this is an opportunity for schools to ‘sell’ themselves to current trainees who, having met you and heard about your school, might then make an application later in the year or even future years.

Of course, if you do have vacancies then it is a great opportunity to meet potential applicants and we know plenty of schools have gone on to employ people they met at our previous recruitment fairs.

Our aim is to provide an opportunity to encourage as many of our trainee teachers as possible to embark on a successful career in a partnership school, benefiting the community in which they trained.

Event details:

  • Your table will be available from 4.15pm. The event will start at 4.30pm.
  • We will provide one table (approx 2 metre length) and 2 chairs per school
  • There is a fee of £30 (plus £3.22 Eventbrite booking fee) per school as a contribution towards admin and refreshment costs. Refreshments will be provided for all students and school staff at the event.
  • Limited free parking is available at the Department of Education (Norham Gardens), depending on the availability of spaces on the day. Please do let us know if you require parking for the day during registration and we will share details. In case car parking spaces aren’t available in the Department’s car park on the day, street parking is available on Norham Gardens next to the Department at £19.00 for 3 hours (£6.30 for 1 hour, payment by card).
  • Unfortunately power or AV is not guaranteed at tables
  • Please avoid sticking posters or materials on AV equipment or walls
  • Photography & Filming Photography and filming may take place at this event and may be used for the promotion of OTSA and University of Oxford. If you do not wish to have your photograph taken or appear on film please let the registration team know on the day.

We request that:

  • You bring only one roller banner
  • A maximum of two members of staff from each school attend due to space limitations.

Importantbefore making your booking please check this map and select the correct ticket for your preferred table.

If you are unable to attend the fair, there will be a display table with ‘absent’ school prospectuses – please send paper copies of these documents to the University of Oxford Department of Education by 10th January 2025.
