The financial services sector in the North is growing. In Leeds alone there are more than 30,000 people employed in a sector thats accounts for roughly 7.3% of GVA. The Leeds City Region is one of the largest centres for banking. It is home to to 30 national and international banks and is the location for five of the largest building societies.
Despite the uncertainity of Brexit, innovation across the North continues to grow. Technology has made financial services more accessible and many businesses are benefiting from the relentless pace of change within the Sector.
Although there is good news there are also challenges. The most immediate being the impact of Brexit on interest rates and foreign exchange. Women in Finance Networking together with our sponsor Yorkshire Bank will be discussing this and other key issues on the 14th March 9.30-11.30. This event is open to all women in the Financial Services Sector and businesswomen more generally who want to increase their business connections.
