This free two-part discussion seminar is for members of the Ottawa Branch of the National Association of Federal Retirees and will be held on two successive mornings at 9:30 a.m. (April 10 and 17). When you register for the April 10 session, you will automatically be registered for the April 17 session also.
Retirees have specific needs when they invest that differ from the needs of younger investors. This discussion seminar is designed to help retirees look at:
- generating tax and cost-efficient income to support a retirement lifestyle.
This seminar is intended for retirees who are already involved in managing their own investments and will give them an opportunity to discuss best practices and strategies and fundamental topics such as: diversification, management fees, taxation efficiency, as well as Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and the variety of asset classes available to investors.
The Ottawa Branch is hosting this seminar that will be led by Michael Fine, a member and a retiree who manages his family’s portfolio. Michael has an MBA and has completed the Certified Financial Planner course. Michael does not work in the Financial Services industry and is not involved in the sale of financial investments or the provision of financial advice for a fee.
Please note that this seminar will not provide investment advice regarding specific investments, and the NAFR Ottawa Branch takes no responsibility for any investment decisions that participants may make. Participants will be asked to sign a waiver to this effect.
This will be the seventh offering of this seminar, which has been highly reviewed by previous participants and seats filled up quickly.
The seminar will be held in the Boardroom of the Ottawa Branch on two mornings starting at 9:30 a.m. and lasting until noon. Part 1 will be held on April 10 and Part 2 will be held on April 17. Attendance is limited to 22 participants. Please note that when you register for Part 1 on April 10, 2019, you will also automatically be registered for Part 2 on April 17, 2019. The content will be presented in English, however bilingual participation is encouraged.
