This half-day workshop is one of six in a series across one school year designed to give Headteachers, HR personnel and any staff with line management responsibility practical skills and knowledge to lead staff and school systems effectively.

Managing Performance

We all want our staff to perform to the best of their ability and perhaps find managing under-performance the most difficult aspect of people management. Unlike discipline where there is an actual act of willful misconduct, under-performance is something that often is ignored in the hope that it will naturally improve. In most cases, under-performance will gradually get worse.

In this workshop we will explore the causes of under performance, the consequence of under performance (on the individual and those around them) and how to manage performance to get the best out of staff. This will include looking at formal methods of goal setting and review and linking performance to training and development.

Other workshops in this Essential Leadership Skills series in 2021 are:

  • Employee Engagement – 18th January 2021
  • Managing Absence – 23rd February 2021
  • Managing Discipline and Grievance – 15th March 2021
  • Managing Change – 14th June 2021

Each session is capped at a maximum of 12 participants to ensure the training will be interactive.

The workshops are bookable individually or as a set, to fit your needs and develop your staff knowledge and skills.

Workshop facilitator
