An Introduction to: Teaching Children with Autism – SEND

This workshop is aimed at those working with children who have Autism, and is delivered by a special school teacher with previous experience in working with students with Autism within Early Years and Primary and is currently working with young people aged 10-19.

This workshop is designed to equip TAs, NQTs, Teachers and SENDCos with an introduction to teaching children with Autism – whether they are teaching in a special or mainstream education setting. It would be relevant for classroom practitioners in all phases, including Early Years and Post-16.

The session will be led by an experienced teacher from Endeavour Academy, a school and residential setting for children and young people with Autism and severe learning difficulties aged 10 – 19. It aims to give participants practical guidance on how to support, teach and improve the outcomes for children with Autism with whom they work.

Learning Outcomes:

● To learn what Autism is.

● To understand how to support children with Autism, and what strategies and tools are available to improve teaching and learning.

● To share and discuss classroom concerns with experts in the field.

Accessing the online event

Cost includes VAT which may be recovered by schools

£25 (plus VAT)

The event cost is inclusive of applicable VAT. VAT is generally recoverable by schools but if in doubt please check with your finance manager.

Payment

Payment needs to be made at the time of booking by credit card, debit card or Paypal. A VAT invoice will be sent to you automatically by email.

Unfortunately, in order to keep our event fees as low as possible, we are not able to issue manual invoices for later payment by cheque or bank transfer and we are not able to reserve places without payment.

In the event of a refund request, please note that the Eventbrite booking fee of 6.5% plus 0.49p per ticket is not refundable.
